We are starting a short sermon series this week that will dip into the book of Revelation, specifically the letters written to the seven churches in Asia. As we started preparing for this first week in the series, someone asked the question, "if God were to write a letter to Westville Methodist Church, what would He say?" Brilliant question!
How we answer that question will reveal a great deal about how we see God and how we see ourselves. I am sure there would be much affirmation in such a letter - as we see in the letter to the church in Ephesus (Rev 2:1-7). God delights in his people and that includes us here in Westville :) God has much to celebrate about this church community.
Pretty much all of the letters to the churches in Revelation also contain a challenge to each community. God longs for us to become all that we can be as a church. Like the tired King Theoden we saw in last week's service, God wants to see us reinvigorated, remembering who we are. What do you think God wants to say to us? If something strikes you, send me a message, or share it in the service on Sunday - there'll be a space for feedback. Hope to see you then.
